MS Word Page Setup Settings

When you start typing in ms word 2010 the first face is a blank sheet of paper. In order for neat typing results will be, should first do practice "ms word page setup settings" by clicking the Page Layout tab.

Margins

On the toolbar there is a ribbon Page Setup Margins menu which when clicked show the option setting margins that have been provided include: Last Custom Setting (choose the last setting that we use), Normal, Narrow, Moderate, Wide, and Mirrored. If not satisfied with the margin settings that have been provided you can create your own settings by clicking Custom Margins ...
"The margin is distance of the outer end of paper toward the outer side of typing area."

Paper Orientation


In addition to determining the size of the margins, page setup ms word settings also specify the orientation of the paper used, the choice is portrait or landcape. Choose one that suits your needs.

Paper Size

Next specify the paper size being used by clicking on the toolbar "Size". There are many choices of paper size, if not find the appropriate paper, click More Paper Size will display the Page Setup dialog window. In the "paper size" select a paper size, you can even make your own customize paper size. When finished click OK.

Columns

If you need a typing area of more than one column you can select them on the "Columns". If you want to determine for yourself click More Columns ... and Columns dialog window will appear, do the settings and then click OK.

That's the basic "ms word page setup settings" when starting typing so the results neatly.

These methods also apply to setting Page Setup MS Word 2007.
